Titled Star Wars: The Bad Batch, it will carry the torch for the animated world of Star Wars for hopefully the next several years. Here is what is known so far about Disney’s next project set in a galaxy far, far away.
Following the elite team of clones, also known as Clone Force 99, in a post-Clone Wars World, the series will see them take on, «daring mercenary missions as they struggle to stay afloat and find a new purpose.» Each member of the group is genetically different from their fellow clones, and they each possess a specific skill that makes them stand out amongst the rest. For this reason, The Bad Batch is an intimidating and effective team.
The group appeared in five episodes of the final season of Clone Wars. Each member of the crew has a particular set of skills that make them stand out from an average clone. According to their databank page, «Hunter, Wrecker, Tech and Crosshair use their unique talents and specialized physiology to execute extraordinary solutions on the battlefield.» They also recruit a clone trooper named Echo after rescuing him from a Separatist group.
While the clones may have the same appearance and voice, each has their own unique character trait to make a tremendous force to be with reckoned with. Hunter has incredible tracking skills thanks to being able to detect electromagnetic waves through the ground. Tech has remarkable intelligence and can hack into any complicated technology system. Crosshair has outstanding marksmanship, and Wrecker has great physical strength and serves as the group’s heavy weapon specialist. After surviving a brutal stint as a prisoner of war and nearly being killed in a shuttle explosion, Echo is a changed clone trooper who chooses to join the batch after being rescued by them in The Clone Wars.
